Labor recommits to 12pc super

Federal Labor has recommitted to its promise to lift compulsory superannuation contributions to 12 per cent without nominating a specific timetable.

"We want to see Australians get to a 12 per cent ... more quickly that the government's disgracefully slow timetable," shadow treasurer Chris Bowen told the National Press Club in Canberra on Wednesday.

Labor would assess the full budgetary situation after the May 12 before announcing specific timelines, he said.
