Labor MP offers Speaker her own chopper

A federal Labor MP has a special present for Bronwyn Bishop: her own customised helicopter.

Unfortunately for the Speaker - who's had to pay back more than $5000 of taxpayer money she used to charter a chopper to fly to a Liberal party fundraiser - she might find it tough to fit inside the toy version Michael Danby wants to give to her.

"Will present to her as momento if still (Speaker) when (parliament) resumes," Mr Danby tweeted on Friday, along with a photo of him holding the aircraft emblazoned with Mrs Bishop's face.
