Labor matches Gold Coast tram cash pledge

An extension of the Gold Coast light rail network will go ahead regardless of which major party wins the federal election in May.
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will on Monday match the prime minister's $112 million pledge to extend the network to Burleigh Heads.
The Queensland state government and Gold Coast council have both promised to help fund the project, but are yet to commit funds.
