Labor dismisses MPs' Manus dissent

Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese is dismissing claims the party is in discord over asylum-seeker policy.

The government has seized on criticism from opposition backbenchers over the bipartisan support for offshore processing.

"People speaking their mind is not a problem for any political party. That just shows that they are people who have conviction and are prepared to put their views," Mr Albanese told the Nine Network.
