Bushfire rages near Western Australia town of Koondoola
A deliberately lit bushfire has put residents in the Western Australian town of Koondoola on high alert as the fire burned out of control.
Strong winds pushed the blaze beyond a main road, Alexander Drive, coming within metres of homes.

The alert level for the fire was downgraded from a "watch and act" to "advice" as the blaze was contained and controlled.
Local resident Michael Read said it had proved difficult for firefighters to extinguish.
"It starts, they put it out, then it just restarts," Mr Read said.
Waterbombing aircraft were used to help control the flames.
Residents were told by authorities to get ready to leave.
Firefighters were called to the area and started work trying to try to extinguish the blaze. 9News

The blaze started just after midday at the intersection of Alexander Drive and Beach Road.
It was burning close to several shops along the main road and near a fuel station.

Police have begun investigations into who started the fire.
Mr Read said whoever did had done the wrong thing.
"If someone has done it, very childish I think," Mr Read said.
