Cuddly koala mum and bub back to steal more hearts after recovering from being run over

A mother koala and her adorable joey who took the internet by storm last week after photos showed the baby refusing to leave his injured mum's side have returned with good news for their fans.
The mother, Lizzy, was treated at Australia Zoo last week after being struck by a car on the road.
Her six-month-old joey Phantom is too young to leave her side and photos of him clinging to his mother's back as she recovered soon went viral online.
Overnight, Australia Zoo posted a new photo showing mum and bub sitting in a gum tree, with Phantom wrapped tight in Lizzy's embrace.
"Phantom’s mum, Lizzy is recovering well after surgery and is now the one doing all the cuddling," Australia Zoo wrote in the caption.
"Lizzy’s condition is improving every day and Phantom is putting on weight which is a great sign for the health of both mother and baby."
Australia Zoo also thanked people across the world for their donations.
