Lights, camera … koala? Furry marsupial joins news crew at NSW wildlife park

A curious koala has become an internet star after footage emerged of it taking over video camera duties at a NSW wildlife park.

The koala was filmed by NBN News clambering on to an unattended camera during a crew's visit to the Australian Reptile Park on the NSW Central Coast.

Onlookers were amused but the koala declined to return to the news station with them - preferring a cosy life in the park.

Online audiences nicknamed the curious creature "Barry", but park spokeswoman Amanda Woodbine told the Daily Mail it was a young female named Miley.

"She was born here, she was one of our joeys from our most recent intake," she said.
