What will the weather be like this King's Birthday long weekend?
Wet and gloomy winter conditions are likely to dampen the King's Birthday long weekend for some but residents in other capital cities could have a mostly clear three days.
Residents south of Sydney were told to prepare to evacuate on Friday as the downpour in NSW continues but those conditions will likely clear by Saturday afternoon.
Here is what the weather will be in each city celebrating the long weekend, according to forecasts by the Bureau of Meteorology.

A quick note: most states and territories get a public holiday this weekend but we have not included Brisbane or Perth weather as they celebrate the King's Birthday later in the year.
Sydney
Saturday
Sydneysiders will get a wet start to their long weekend with a high chance of showers in the morning but they are less likely in the afternoon and evening.
Westerly winds and cloudy skies will persist throughout the day with temperatures set to peak at 20 degrees and drop to 11.

Sunday
It is likely to be mostly sunny after all of the rain with a maximum of 20 degrees.
Monday
More partly cloudy and windy conditions are expected for Monday, with only a slight chance of showers in the day.
It will also be a bit cooler as temperatures drop to a high of 19 degrees and a low of 10 degrees.

There is a medium chance of showers and winds in the morning and afternoon.
Clouds, winds and temperatures of 17 degrees and a low of six degrees will hang over the city.
Sunday
There is only a small chance of showers but it will be a mostly cloudy day.
Temperatures will continue to drop to a high of 14 degrees and a low of three degrees.
Monday
It will be a frosty, cloudy day with chilly temperatures of 13 degrees and a low of zero.

Heavy rain, clouds and winds will persist over the city as temperatures remain the same.

Showers will loom throughout the day as clouds and light winds continue.
The temperature will drop to a high of 15 degrees and a low of six degrees.

Adelaide
Saturday
Northern suburbs will be under a morning fog before it clears to cloudy and windy conditions for the remainder of the day.
The southern suburbs will have a medium chance of rain, with a slight chance everywhere else as temperatures sit between seven and 17 degrees.
Sunday
Showers are forecast to fall and winds will lash in the morning and afternoon.
Conditions are set to slightly clear to cloudy skies later in the day as the temperature remains about the same.
Monday
The end of the long weekend will be a cloudy day with some showers in the afternoon.
The temperature is slightly warmer with a high of 19 degrees and a low of eight degrees.

It will be sunny with light winds and temperatures reaching 29 degrees.

Monday
Sunny and hot conditions are likely to persist with temperatures remaining about the same as Saturday and Sunday.

It will be a partly cloudy day with light winds. There may be showers in the evening.
Temperatures will sit between five and 14 degrees.
Sunday
The gloomy conditions will remain as rain is forecast to lash the city.
Temperatures will slightly drop to a top of 12 degrees.
Monday
Partly cloudy and windy conditions are expected, with temperatures remaining about the same.
There could be some showers later in the day.
