Kim Kardashian has defended her man after he made headlines around the world for telling fans at an Australian concert to "stand up" without realising some were in wheelchairs.

US rapper Kanye West was criticised for his faux pax at his Sydney show where he was filmed telling the audience he would not continue until everyone in the arena was on their feet.

Posting the concert footage to her Instagram, the 33-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality queen wrote that the reports were untrue and frustrating.

"What an amazing Australian tour! It's frustrating that something so awesome could be clouded by lies in the media," she said.

"Kanye never asked anyone in a wheelchair to stand up and the audience videos show that.

"He asked for everyone to stand up and dance unless they were in a wheelchair."

She used the hashtags #JustWantedEveryoneToHaveAFunNight and #TheMediaTwistsThings in her post.
