Teen appears in court charged with murder of Kilsyth grandfather
A teenager has appeared in court charged with murder of a 73-year-old grandfather in suburban Melbourne.

The 17-year-old - who cannot be named for legal reasons - is accused of killing Antonio Salaris, who died near his Kilsyth home in August 2018.
He was arrested yesterday and subsequently charged with one count of murder and faced an out-of-sessions court hearing last night before appearing at the Children's Court today.
It was the first time the teen had been in custody and CCTV footage was available in the case, the court was told.
Mr Salaris was a grandfather to seven and soon to be eight.
The 73-year-old retiree was found lying on the ground by a neighbour after being fatally stabbed a number of times near his Browning Street property shortly before 9am on August 22.
Mr Salaris had been home alone at the time, after his wife of 49 years had left the house earlier that morning.

His daughter Stephanie described the slaying as "absolutely cruel."
"It's cruel do that to us and that to him. To take his life for no reason. I just want him caught," she told reporters during a press conference in August.
The teenager is due to next appear in court for a committal mention in April.
