KFC 'nude wrestling' ad cooks up controversy

A new KFC television commercial that features a drawing of parents captioned “naked wrestling” has prompted an investigation by the industry watchdog.

The ad shows a mum and dad reacting with horror to the drawing, which is held up by a teacher.

The clip, which has aired over the summer, received 30 complaints from viewers, Advertising Standards Bureau chief executive officer Fiona Jolly told the Herald Sun.

It is now being reviewed by the Advertising Standards Board, with findings expected to be announced next week.

KFC has since defended their campaign, telling the newspaper it was part of a “light-hearted series capturing real-life moments consumers can relate to”.

In the meantime, an alternate television spot recently aired, replacing the naked drawing with one that reads: “daddy has a fart trumpet”.
