Key figures in mid-year budget review

BUDGET FORECASTS

* 2015/16 deficit: $37.4 billion vs $35.1 billion at time of May budget.

* 2016/17 deficit: $33.7 billion vs $25.8 billion

* Result of "considerably weaker" tax receipts from declining commodity prices, low wages growth and weaker equity markets.

* A surplus is now projected in 2020/21, one year later than predicted in the May budget.

ECONOMIC GROWTH FORECASTS

* 2015/16 GDP: 2.5 per cent vs 2.75 per cent

* 2016/17 GDP: 2.75 per cent vs 3.25 per cent

UNEMPLOYMENT

* 2015/16: 6.0 per cent vs 6.5 per cent

* 2016/17: 6.0 per cent vs 6.25 per cent

CPI

* 2015/16: 2.0 per cent vs 2.5 per cent

* 2016/17: 2.25 per cent vs 2.5 per cent
