Gable Tostee: Woman identified herself as jury member on Instagram

A delay in the delivery of the verdict in Gable Tostee’s murder trial was due to a juror having referred to the trial on Instagram, it has been revealed.
The jury had just reached a verdict today when the legal issue emerged.
Justice John Byrne revealed that a female juror had mentioned the trial on Instagram, identifying herself as a member of the jury.
Jurors are instructed not to discuss the trial with anyone other than their fellow jury members.
However, Justice Byrne said the behaviour was “disappointing”, but did not warrant a mistrial.
The jury then delivered a verdict of not guilty to both murder and manslaughter.
