Former foreign minister Julie Bishop will be the next chair of the Telethon Kids Institute.
Ms Bishop toured the Perth-based children's research hub this week and said she was feeling "very happy, very relaxed and very excited" about her life beyond politics, the West Australian reported on Friday.
The role is the first the former deputy Liberal leader has taken up since retiring as the MP for Curtin last month.
