In the 1990s English was cast in the sitcom All Together Now, alongside The TODAY Show’s Steve Jacobs.

This morning Jacobs paid tribute to his friend and colleague, whom he said he spent “four of the best years of my life” with.

“He was such a talented performer and such a gentleman,” he said.

“He lived his life like a rock star, he was larger than life.

“Just a beautiful soul.”

English was set to tour Australia from May starting in Perth.
