Depp, and his wife Amber Heard, landed on a private flight from the US shortly before midday.

The famed actor had left the set on March 10 after injuring his hand in an accident away from the set.

The Hollywood Reporter said he required a pin inserted in his finger.

The film was due to resume production after two weeks, but was delayed further, leaving hundreds of staff temporarily stood down.

The New York Post reported today that Depp’s marriage was under threat by a close relationship between his openly bisexual wife and a gay activist.

Images of Depp and Heard landing in Brisbane showed them smiling and holding hands.
