Jo Hall calls in backup during on-air cough attack
Live television doesn't always go to plan, and last night news reader Jo Hall had to call in backup after having a cough attack during the bulletin.
The veteran news reader was reading an introduction to a news report when she couldn’t contain her cough.
"Excuse me, sorry," Hall said.
It didn’t take long for her to realise she needed help, quickly calling over regional sports presenter Nathan Currie for backup.
Currie jumped into the cameras view to read the script while Hall took a sip of water to recover.
Hall quietly applauded Currie before the camera cut to the news report.
"The old choking on air trick hey Joey?" Currie wrote in an Instragram post joking about the ordeal.
"Alright, I'll cover for you this time."
Hall- ever the pro- then continued reading the bulletin.
