Jimmy Fallon’s hilarious reaction to trying Vegemite for the first time

Talk show host Jimmy Fallon has been left a-not-so-happy-little-Vegemite after he dared to sample the iconic Australian spread on live on air last night.

In a segment on The Tonight Show called Kid Letters, the host read out fan letters sent in from children sending in viewer feedback and challenging him to dares.

In a letter sent in by seven-year-old Charlie, and four-year-old Jed from Australia, the pair dared the show’s announcer Steve Higgins to taste Vegemite.

“I think Steve Higgins should try Vegemite because he doesn’t really do anything,” the letter read.

Higgins willingly took part in the dare spreading the Vegemite on a piece of toast.

“No good,” he said, spitting it straight out.

“It’s not for the American palate. I’m sure it’s delicious in Australia.”

Fallon was curious to have a taste as well.

“Well it looks great. This looks like something you want to eat,” he said taking a bite of the toast.

Then the host succumbed to the unexpected salty taste.

“It’s like waves, it comes in waves,” he said cringing.
