Jeremy Clarkson breaks silence about BBC sacking

Jeremy Clarkson has spoken publicly for the first time since he was sacked as host of BBC's Top Gear, saying "there are some dreadful people" working at the broadcaster.

Clarkson, 55, said in a radio interview that he is going to miss working on the popular motoring show and that leaving the BBC had left a "big hole" in his life.

"I love the BBC. There are some dreadful people in it but there are also some really talented, brilliant people. I will never complain about it," he told BBC Radio 2.

The former host also seemed to take responsibility for his abrupt sacking in March, which followed a now-infamous "fracas" with a TV producer on the show.

"It was my own silly fault so I can hardly complain," he said.

Clarkson also described Top Gear as "very much my baby" and admitted he had "absolutely no idea" about what his future holds.

Clarkson denied rumours he is planning on a new venture with his former Top Gear stars Richard Hammond and James May.
