A P-plate driver has wept in court after being jailed for seven years for killing a young cyclist in Melbourne's north-west.
James Guzman was going twice the speed limit and trying to overtake on the wrong side of the road when he hit Jarryd Currie at Burnside Heights in 2019.

The 20-year-old claimed he could not see the victim until it was too late.
Investigators believe he was likely travelling at about 109km/h and would have hit Mr Currie at 107km/h.
"The force was so great that his windscreen shattered and the roof of the vehicle collapsed," Detective Senior Constable Leigh Miller told Melbourne Magistrates Court during a bail hearing.
He will be eligible for parole at the end of 2024.
