Brother of ISIS terrorist released on bail after alleged outburst at children’s soccer match

The brother of Islamic State terrorist Mohamed Elomar has been granted bail after he allegedly made threats at a children's soccer match in southwest Sydney.

Ahmed Elomar’s son and brother were playing for St Marys Eaglevale team against Narellan Rangers at Kooringa Reserve, Raby, on May 13.

During the under-16s match, Elomar allegedly threatened to kill one opposing supporter and "put holes" in another.

The 34-year-old was arrested by police for stalking and intimidation.

The former boxer today appeared in Parramatta Bail Court via videolink, where he was granted bail by Magistrate Robert Abood.

Only 11 months ago, Elomar was released from Gouldburn Jail on parole after serving almost three years for bashing a police officer over the head with a pole during the Hyde Park riots in 2012.

Elomar remains under his parole conditions and is fitted with an electronic monitoring ankle-bracelet.

His brother Mohammed, who infamously posted images online of himself from Syria holding severed heads, is believed to have been killed last year.

For now, Elomar has been ordered to stay away from the vicinity of football matches and will be back in court next month.
