Irwin boyfriend reports false: Aust Zoo
Australia Zoo says there's no truth to a report that Bindi Irwin has a 24-year-old boyfriend.
Woman's Day reports Irwin, who weeks ago turned 16, has found herself a handsome British zookeeper, Luke Reavley.
The magazine's story is based on photos of the pair shopping and having lunch together in Byron Bay, in northern NSW, last week.
The magazine says Reavley is head of elephants at Australia Zoo and has known Irwin, daughter of the late wildlife icon Steve Irwin, since he began working there in 2007.
"But it's only in recent months that the pair's friendship has blossomed into a romance," says the story, which claims "the cute couple are not shy to flaunt their love on social media".
Irwin recently posted a couple of photos to her Instagram page of herself and Reavley, in which she refers to him as "the greatest friend".
A spokeswoman for Australia Zoo told AAP Reavley is the executive assistant for Bindi's mother Terri Irwin, and is friends with the family but has no romantic connection to the teenager.
"He works closely with Bindi, (but) they're not in a relationship and he's not actually a zookeeper," the spokeswoman said.
"He used to work with the elephants but we no longer have them. He's been the Irwins' family assistant for some time now."
