A New South Welshman whose company concept went viral last year has surprised his mother with her first-ever new car.

Mathew Carpenter, who created the "Ship Your Enemies Glitter" business and wrote a chapter in the book Online Marketing Sorted, posted a video of the kind deed he performed for his mother's birthday to YouTube yesterday.

The video begins by explaining that Ms Carpenter's  car had been broken down for three months, and "without the money to fix it" she had been "relying on friends and family to drive her to and from work."

The video shows Mr Carpenter's mother, blindfolded, in the passenger seat of a moving vehicle with a wineglass in her hand.

"Mum, where do you think you are right now?" Mr Carpenter, 23, asks.

"I have no idea," she replies.

"Do you know where we're going?"

"Nup," says Ms Carpenter, making dance moves in her seat.

"She's drunk," a female voice can be heard to say.

After a short montage, the group arrives at a car dealership where a pink Mitsubishi, wrapped in a huge pink bow and adorned with white balloons, awaits.

As Ms Carpenter's blindfold is removed she smiles in surprise at the vehicle in front of her.

"Oh my god it's amazing," she says.
