The former partner of firebrand MP Mark Latham has formally denied sharing an intimate image without consent days after her airport arrest.

Nathalie May Matthews, 38, was granted bail on Monday, a day after being arrested on an outstanding warrant when she arrived back in Sydney from Dubai.

She was charged with accessing or modifying restricted data, and intentionally recording and distributing an intimate image without consent.

The managing director of a global logistics firm is accused of accessing intimate images without authorisation, recording an intimate image of a person without their consent, and distributing an intimate image without consent.

The alleged victim of the charges cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Matthews appeared in Downing Centre Local Court today to plead not guilty to the charges against her.

The former OnlyFans creator sat on the opposite side of the courtroom from Latham, 64, whom she has accused of a "sustained pattern" of abuse and manipulation.

The former federal Labor leader and state One Nation leader, who now sits as an independent in the NSW upper house, rejects her allegations.

He has not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing.

Matthews has made a private application for an apprehended violence order against him, which is due to be ventilated in a three-day hearing in May.

Outside court, her lawyer said they would wait for the matter to be dealt with in due course.

"We'll wait for all the evidence to come out," Daniel Wakim said.

Matthews has surrendered her passport and been prohibited from applying for a new one, and is barred from contacting any prosecution witnesses except through a lawyer.

Her former partner Latham has served as a right-wing independent MP since 2023 after a falling out with Senator Pauline Hanson and his departure as One Nation NSW leader.

He helped the right-wing populist party's return to state politics in 2019, 15 years after his failed attempt to lead Labor to federal election victory.

After losing to incumbent prime minister John Howard in 2004, Latham resigned from federal parliament and was later ejected from the Labor party.

He has been embroiled in several recent scandals, including taking photos of female MPs without their knowledge, for which he has already apologised.

Calls to remove his official portrait from Labor's federal party room resulted in the addition of a sign which explains he has been barred from the party for life.
