Guard sacked after smacking child on Nauru
AAP
An Australian security guard on Nauru lost his job after smacking a misbehaving asylum-seeker child on the bottom, a Senate inquiry has heard.
Another locally employed female guard was also sacked after having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old asylum seeker even though it was deemed consensual by police after investigation.
Wilson Security executive manager John Rogers maintained the incidents were isolated and the company had a strong code of conduct in place.
