NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian grilled over ICAC as former secret partner fronts inquiry

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is again being grilled over her involvement with disgraced MP Daryl Maguire and whether she knew of his alleged corrupt dealings.

Mr Maguire is facing his third day of questioning at an inquiry into his alleged corruption during his time as the Liberal member for Wagga Wagga.

Ms Berejiklian faced the same inquiry on Monday where it was revealed the pair had been in a secret relationship for five years.

The premier faced questions again this morning about whether she knew about his alleged wrongdoing – specifically a potential deal related to property around the second Sydney airport at Badgerys Creek.

"Again, please, I spent six hours being very open and transparent, and I refer you to those comments," Ms Berejiklian said at a press conference this morning.

"I have done nothing wrong, and I refer to my evidence on Monday and they also say this, Mr Maguire was in Parliament for nearly 20 years, many of us trusted him and many of us have been let down by him."

Ms Berejiklian repeatedly referred to the comments she made before ICAC on Monday, and maintained she cooperated completely and had done nothing wrong.

"I have said this, it is important to respect the processes. Can I say this, it is really important, because if you breach any of the processes it is not a good thing."
