A Siberian husky born without any paws has been given a new lease on life, after she was adopted and given a wheelchair by her new owner.

Thai dog “Maya” was born with a congenital defect that left her with no paws on her four legs, making it difficult for her to walk, Bored Panda reports.

Her current owner Kit recalled seeing an advertisement for the shelter puppy on Facebook that noted her abnormality, but said it did not deter her from adopting the dog.

Images and video of the dog posted to her dedicated Facebook and Instagram accounts show her frolicking on the beach and in the park with the aid of a dog wheelchair.

“Happiness isn't limited by the word ‘handicapped’,” reads one video caption.

Maya’s Facebook page has received more than 50,000 likes.
