Hunt for five men allegedly behind serious attack on man in inner Melbourne
A man had to be hospitalised with serious injuries after he was allegedly randomly attacked by a group of men in inner Melbourne.
The 34-year-old man was on Yarra Promenade in Southbank about 12.40am on June 18 when five men he didn't know ran at him, according to police.
The group allegedly knocked the man to the ground and kicked him.

Police believe the group of attackers then went into a venue in Southbank and were involved in another assault.
They left the scene on foot, believed to have headed north on Clarendon Street towards the CBD about 1.45am.
Meanwhile, the man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have released CCTV images of five men who they want to speak to over the attack.
