Hung parlt may deal blow to gay marriage

The issue of same-sex marriage may be one of the casualties of a hung parliament.

A minority Turnbull government may not have the numbers to secure passage of legislation enabling its promised plebescite.

But it's also unlikely coalition MPs will be given a free vote on any private legislation Labor presents to the parliament.
