Human remains found in Tasmanian bushland

Human remains have been found in bushland alongside the Mersey River near Devonport, in Tasmania's north.

Police said the remains were found in the Warrawee Reserve in Latrobe on Saturday afternoon.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Investigations into the identity of the deceased are ongoing, Tasmania Police said in a statement.
