Top dog: Winner stomachs 20 sausages in buns

There’s a new top dog in town.

Billed as the most delicious event of the year, the 2018 Luna Park hotdog eating competition has gone down a treat in Melbourne.

After travelling from Sydney and downing a whopping 20 dogs, Jesse Freeman was crowned the male winner.

Sarah Gilbert defended the women’s division for the third year in a row, managing to keep down a respectable eight dogs.

Winners took home a cash prize of $500 cash for their efforts. That, and a whole lot of bragging rights.
