Horsey McHorseface fails again to secure first win

Fan-favourite maiden Horsey McHorseface has failed to secure his first win at Mudgee over the weekend.

Named by prominent Sydney trainer Bjorn Baker's team at Warwick Farm as a homage to Boaty McBoatface, the three-year-old did manage to win $3,775 after coming second out of ten.

"He has shown nice ability and it was a good run first-up. He is probably looking for 1200m but the 1100m should suit and he is going well. He came thought that first-up run really well. We’re happy with him," Mr Baker told Racing NSW on Friday.

Mr Baker's team were so confident Horsey McHorseface would win at Mudgee on Saturday that he was awarded the stable's weekly Twitter tip, Bjorn's Best.

But sadly, he just missed out on the win to Rident Home.

The Nadeem gelding was purchased at a ready to run sale for $65,000 in New Zealand last year.
