Honorary doctorate for former PM Howard

Former prime minister John Howard is to receive an honorary doctorate from Charles Sturt University.

Mr Howard was instrumental in funding the university's rural dental school in the 2007/08 budget.

The first 32 students to complete the dental science degree graduated from CSU in Orange last December.

Mr Howard will receive the honour at a ceremony in December.
