'Please don't hurt my family': Dad brutally bashed in home invasion

Two men have been arrested after a West Australian father was brutally bashed in home invasion which he said left him fearing for his children’s lives.

A group of men covered by masks forced their way into the man’s home in Mandurah on Saturday night armed with guns, knives and golf clubs.

“I remember just seeing it and panicking, I got to the ground and just said ‘please, don’t hurt my family, don’t hurt my kids,’” the man told 9News.

“I knew that if they’d got me down, who knows what would have happened, you know with five of them.”

The father, his teenage son and his son’s girlfriend were attacked during the home invasion, and pictures of the aftermath show blood smeared on the wall.

The man said he does not know what the group was after, but believes it was a targeted attack.

His 14-year-old son remained hidden in his room during the attack, but then managed to unmask one of the intruders before calling authorities.

“He’s come down and called the ambulance and was talking to them on the phone, holding pressure on the wounds, he’s just so strong for a teenager and you know, my other boy, he’s hurt too and his girlfriend she had a broken arm from it.”

Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested today, and several others remain on the run.
