'Shot fired' in Adelaide home invasion

Residents of an Adelaide home have suffered two terrifying incidents in less than a week, including a home invasion by armed intruders.

One of the victims said three armed men stormed the property on Wednesday night, forced him into a bathroom at gunpoint, and ransacked the house.

"They just came and knocked on the door," the victim said.

"I misheard what they said, opened it, and they just put the gun in."

The keys to a silver Holden Commodore were among the stolen property, with the offenders returning to steal the car just after 10pm last night.

The victim claims the offenders fired a shot as they left the vehicle.

The stolen car was spotted by police on the Salisbury Highway.

A patrol gave chase, but officers quickly terminated the pursuit, because of the dangerous speed the vehicle was travelling at.

It is yet to be found again.

Police are investigating, and said they believed the offenders and victims are known to each other.
