Hold Vic cannabis laws: opposition

Victoria's medicinal cannabis scheme should be put on hold until new federal laws are in place, opposition leader Matthew Guy says.

He believes federal laws are necessary to make sure Victoria isn't breaking any international treaty obligations, among other laws.

Health Minister Jill Hennessy says Victoria is setting up an administrative scheme in its legislation that the federal scheme will complement.
