News team films high-speed chase through Brisbane

Two men have been arrested following a high-speed chase through Brisbane's southwest in a dramatic escape attempt that was all filmed by a helicopter news team.

The getaway duo are seen eventually jumping from their speeding ute after the chase through residential streets and main roads.

The two men are accused of stealing the ute and evading police in a dangerous pursuit, putting other drivers in serious risk.

Two police are seen on foot trying to stop the accused men before they sped off through the streets.

The car was driven at speed through blind intersections, down the wrong sides of numerous roads and the wrong way through roundabouts, narrowly missing other vehicles.

At one point police even followed the accused as they drove up onto the nature strip of a residential area and sped along a footpath.

Unable to escape, the two men eventually bailed out of the moving car, both falling as they leapt onto the road before jumping up and running in separate directions.

They were soon detained by police, one pinned down by a policeman on motorcycle.
