Hiccups don't stop Ethan singing anthem
Seven-year-old Ethan Hall had been battling the hiccups for 24 hours before they returned with a vengeance as he was singing the national anthem at an Adelaide baseball game.
Footage of his brave battle to sing Advance Australia Fair despite his hiccups ahead of the Adelaide Bite/Brisbane Bandits game on Saturday has made him an instant star.
"I think I wasn't going to do it but I did try my best and I did it," Ethan told the Seven Network's Sunrise program on Monday.
His mum Kylie said the hiccups he had had for 24 hours had disappeared, but came back just before he took the stage.
One of the players gave him some water, but it didn't help.
"We are so proud of what he did. You know, others would have fallen apart but he kept on trooping through," Ms Hall said.
