Boy flown to hospital after driving golf buggy off cliff on Whitsundays island

A 12-year-old boy has been flown to hospital after driving a golf buggy over a cliff on Keswick Island in the Whitsundays. 

The boy was taken by helicopter to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition, a Queensland Ambulance Services (QAS) spokeswoman said.

He is believed to have an existing medical condition. 

QAS has not received confirmation on the height of the cliff, or the type of injuries the boy received.

A doctor was one of the first on scene, and paramedics also attended. 

Keswick Island is about 34km north of Mackay.
