Heavy rain drenches Adelaide and causes traffic chaos

Adelaide has been lashed by wild weather, with heavy rainfall causing a two car smash in the city’s north.
The city is copping a downpour with high levels of humidity, but the deluge is forecast to ease by this afternoon.
Traffic lights were out on the corner of Walkleys and Wright Road, where two cars collided.
Another crash occurred on the South East Highway near Heysen Tunnel, in Leawood Gardens, and motorists were also urged to avoid the Grand Junction Road near South Road in Wingfield due to flooding.
South Australia Police urged motorists to be vigilant on the roads and to slow down.
“Please be patient. Slow down, allow extra distance between the car in front and take plenty of time to get to your destination,” they said in a statement.
