Hanson calls on art fair heckler to work with her

Pauline Hanson has called on the Aboriginal activist who abused her at a Queensland art exhibition to work with her to address issues affecting indigenous communities.
 
The Senator-elect and One Nation leader attended the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair on Saturday, when a man she walked past launched into a string of verbal abuse.

Aboriginal leader Murrandoo Yanner called Ms Hanson a "racist redneck", accused her of being "intellectually dishonest" and told her to "go back to Ipswich and your fish and chip shop".
 
Ms Hanson said she was "ashamed" of the incident and invited Mr Yanner to work with her in a video posted on Facebook earlier today.
 
The senator-elect said Mr Yanner was concerned about a lot of issues that she first spoke about 20 years, including violence and alcoholism in Aboriginal communities.
 
"Please let's work together on these issues. They're important to me and important to Aboriginal people," she said.
 
"I think the perception about me was wrong and I'm here to support the Aboriginal community and Torres Strait Islanders. I'm your representative."
 
Her video had been viewed more than 120,000 times at the time of publication, while the video of Mr Yanner heckling her has been watched more than 1.3 million times.
