Hadley declines to clash with Morrison

It nearly ended their mateship and so is being left in the past.

Outspoken broadcaster Ray Hadley wasn't keen to go over again the events of Tony Abbott's downfall when he spoke with Treasurer Scott Morrison during their weekly Monday chat on Radio 2GB.

The pair, who famously clashed on-air in the wake of the Liberal leadership change in September, had a much more amicable conversation following the publication of new revelations.

Fairfax Media has detailed an offer Malcolm Turnbull made to Mr Morrison in February, the day before a failed leadership spill motion.

Mr Morrison, who insists there was no arrangement, laughed it off when discussing the latest report.

"We had a rather feisty interview about all this," Hadley reminded the treasurer, including his demand Mr Morrison swear on a Bible.

"It was an animated discussion," Mr Morrison agreed.

Despite listener requests, Hadley refuses to "cross-examine" Mr Morrison saying he felt like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.

"It's old news," he said.

The treasurer happily agreed: "All of these things have been hauled over, Ray."

Speaking to reporters later, Mr Morrison channelled US pop star Taylor Swift, who he saw in concert in Sydney on Saturday night with his daughters.

"What happened in February and what happened later in the year were completely different issues and you should shake it off," he said.

"It is an issue of no consequence."
