Teen charged with attempted murder after man stabbed in chest in Gympie

A boy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man in the chest in Gympie this morning.

Police were called to a home on Cootharaba Road around 8am and have spent much of the day scouring the area for evidence.

The 35-year-old man suffered a punctured lung and was transported to hospital for treatment in a serious but stable condition.

A 17-year-old Gympie boy has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
