Almost a dozen teens have been captured on CCTV ransacking cars on a street in Gwelup in Perth’s north.

Ten youths were filmed descending on the suburban street at 2am on Christmas Eve.

At least nine cars were broken into in just 24 hours.

“Wallets phones work computers iPads – they took all of that,” victim Jayde Kinane told 9News.

“Quite a bit of money and stuff, which is a shame.”

Ms Kinane said one resident was allegedly pepper-sprayed while trying to intervene.

No one was able to approach the group on account of them having “rocks in their bags and god knows what else”, she said.

It follows a child crime wave across Perth's east. Police are yet to confirm whether these incidents are linked.

An investigation is now underway.
