Customers dove for cover as gunman held up Brisbane post office
Police are hunting for a man armed with a rifle after he attempted to rob a Brisbane post office this morning.
The man walked into the Ellen Grove post office and threatened a male worker about 8.30am (AEST), the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.
He demanded cash, but the worker dove under the front counter of the post office and the gunman fled empty-handed.
He was last seen leaving the Waterworks Road business in a stolen white 2012 Toyota Corolla sedan, with Queensland number plates 412SQW.
The gunman is described as about 180cm tall and obese, and was wearing a black balaclava, black jumper, blue jeans and white shoes during the robbery.
No one was physically injured during the robbery, police advised.
Investigations are ongoing.
