Man arrested three months after massive gun heist in Perth

A man accused of one of Western Australia's biggest gun heists has been arrested after three months.

Police swooped on a Hamilton Hill home in Perth Thursday night and arrested 30-year-old James Egan.

Egan is alleged to be one of two men who broke into Claremont Firearms in Yangebup in November last year, stealing more than 200 guns.

Only 16 of the guns stolen in have been recovered, after being found in Bibra Lake by a bushwalker - leaving more than 180 stolen weapons on the streets.

There have been nine shootings across Perth since the heist took place.

However, police say none of those incidents are related to the robbery due to the type of guns used.

Investigators are now looking for others they believe are involved in the heist, but won't say how many.

"Last night's arrest showed that nothing will stop us from holding those individuals accountable," Commander Allan Adams said.
