Group on the run after allegedly assaulting Green Valley man with poles in his own home

A group of men and a woman are on the run after allegedly assaulting a man at a home west of Sydney last night, in what police believe may have been a targeted attack.

The group broke into a unit on Fifth Avenue in Green Valley around 11pm, through the front door.

A number of the men allegedly attacked a man at the property with poles, throwing furniture around the home and breaking a glass sliding door.

They fled the scene empty handed.

Emergency services were called to the home and the injured man was treated at the scene.

He refused further treatment.

Police confirmed that initial inquiries indicated the assault may have been targeted. 

Authorities have established a crime scene at the address.
