‘Grinches’ vandalise town Christmas tree in Victoria

A group of vandals “not feeling the holiday spirit”  have trashed a six-metre tall Christmas tree in the town of Bright, in regional Victoria.

Police say the unknown offenders cut the wires holding up the adorned Christmas tree at the roundabout of Anderson, Barnard and Ireland streets around 1am yesterday.

The damage caused the tree to topple over onto a nearby picket fence.

The vandals then cut the power lead to the tree and smashed one of the wooden reindeer which was part of the town’s Christmas display.

Investigations are ongoing.
