Greens deputy leader Scott Ludlam is taking a leave of absence from the Senate to treat depression and anxiety.
He made the announcement on Facebook on Friday and said he will return as soon as he's able to give the commitment his work demands.
Senator Ludlam has been granted a pair for the remainder of the year, meaning his vote will be covered by someone else.
