Grandmother stabbed to death in Qld

A grandmother has been stabbed to death in her home and a man is in hospital with serious neck wounds after a Gold Coast attack.

Police were called to the home at Southport about 8am (AEST) on Friday.

They found a dead woman inside with multiple stab wounds and man with serious injuries, including a neck wound.

He was taken to hospital where he's being treated.

Neighbour Sharrene Allen has lived near the pair for 16 years.

"They have lovely grandchildren," she told the ABC.
